How to use Resize JPG
- Add your JPGs or a mix of supported photo files.
- Choose a maximum edge: 3840, 1920 or 1280 pixels. The default here is 1920 pixels.
- Convert, inspect the resulting dimensions, then download the copies or save them to a folder.
Resize without stretching or cropping
The chosen number is a maximum for the longer edge. Width and height scale together to preserve the aspect ratio. For example, a 4000 × 3000 photo becomes 1920 × 1440 at the 1920-pixel setting. A portrait image uses that maximum on its height. Smaller images are not enlarged.
Photo dimensions and file size
Reducing the pixel dimensions often helps when an image is too large for email or an online form. The output quality setting also affects file size. Use No limit to control quality and dimensions yourself, or select Under 1, 2, 3 or 4 MB to fit an upload limit. The size limit may reduce dimensions further; the finished byte count is checked before saving.
When you need an exact crop
This tool does not force photos to 1920 × 1080 or a square size, because those shapes may require cropping. It also does not create passport or identity-document templates. Use a crop tool when the destination requires a specific aspect ratio, and check that destination’s own requirements.
Common questions
Will every output be exactly 1920 pixels wide?
No. The limit applies to the longer edge. Portrait photos have a smaller width, and images already below the limit keep their dimensions.
Can I enter a custom width and height?
Custom pixel dimensions are not currently available. Choose one of the maximum-edge presets or keep the original size.
Can I resize a batch of photos?
Yes. Add up to 1,000 supported photos and apply the same maximum-edge setting to the batch. Each photo retains its own aspect ratio.
