JPG is lossy, even at 100%. PNG, TIFF and PDFs without a file-size limit add no lossy compression to rendered pixels. Originals are never modified.

How to use Upscale Image

What upscaling does

High-quality interpolation creates more pixels between existing ones. It makes an image larger but cannot recover missing detail or reliably repair blur. Processing stays on your device. Originals are unchanged.

Size and quality

Outputs are limited to 8,192 pixels per side and 40 megapixels. Oversized requests fail with an explanation rather than silently shrinking. Start with a small batch on a phone. PNG preserves rendered pixels and transparency; JPG is lossy.

Is this an AI upscaler?

No. This tool uses high-quality resizing without a generative model, server upload or invented detail.

Can I upscale HEIC photos?

Yes, supported HEIC and camera RAW photos use the existing decoders. Camera support varies. Large originals may exceed the output size limit at 2× or 4×.
